Earning Some Extra Money Online

I’ve been struggling financially and these days it feels like that’s everyone’s problem. In my case, being a full-time student while working a full-time job doesn’t leave much room for second or third jobs so I’ve tried a couple of online platforms that have earned me a few bucks. At the moment, earning cash online is the best option for me and maybe it is for you too. I want to make it clear that the one’s that I have tried haven’t made me a full income where I can quit my job but I’m hoping to find something like that one day. While these suggestions may not help you quit your job, a few extra bucks in your pocket can never be a bad thing right? These are 5 online jobs or apps where you can earn some extra cash.

Transcribing Audio
Scribie is by far my favorite one because it’s simple and I love to type on the computer. It’s easy to sign up and once you’re accepted, you have a list of audio files to choose from. Each audio file is 6 minutes long and they are ranked low, medium, and hard depending on how clear the audio is. You can also hear a portion of the audio before you decide to transcribe it. Once you choose a file, you listen to the audio and type out EXACTLY what you hear (in some cases it is verbatim including utterances but it’ll say if the customer wants that). Each audio that you transcribe will pay you anywhere from $0.50 to $2.00 and increase as you move up. You start out as a transcriber and move up to become a reviewer. There’s no limit to how many you can do in a day but it does take a few days for your transcription to be reviewed, and then you get paid.

It’s not too complicated as long as your transcriptions receive passing reviews and they accept applicants without experience if you pass the test file.

Selling Your Stuff Online

I’m sure everyone has stuff laying around the house that they don’t use anymore or at least I have stuff laying around that I don’t use anymore. Selling your stuff on ebay helps someone get something they need and gets it out of your hair in the process. Getting stuff to sell on ebay isn’t the easiest thing to do though, because everyone is always looking for the cheapest price while you’re looking to sell at the highest price. It’s not impossible though, and people have become quite successful selling stuff on ebay. It does take some time and effort to sell constantly and as busy as I am, I couldn’t do it long-term. If you have some extra time on your hands and stuff you want to get rid of, you should definitely give it a try but be aware that you are charged for listing your stuff on ebay. Transactions are made through PayPal and you can pay the postage slips directly through ebay.

FeaturePoints is probably the easiest one in terms of money over effort because all you have to do is download apps, try them for a few minutes, and you receive points. Another thing you can do on this app to earn more points is take surveys, most of which aren’t very long but the longer ones do give you more points. With all the points that you earn, you can trade them in for gift cards to different stores, money on PayPal, or Bitcoins. A new feature that was added not too long ago is buying stuff through the app from different stores and earning a percentage back. Some of these stores include Wal-Mart, Sephora, Target and Forever 21.

Sell Your Photos
I’m not a professional photographer and maybe if I was I would get lucky on this app but unfortunately, I haven’t received any money yet. I do get notifications saying that other people have earned money so I’m hoping my day will come soon! In this app, you can upload any picture that you have taken and if someone likes it they’ll buy it for $5.00, technically it’s $10.00 but you only get half. This app also includes “missions” which are like contests where you can enter your photo and if it wins you receive a prize of $100.00 or more. Personally, it seems quite difficult to sell your pictures but if you’re better at photography than I am, which you probably are, then you should try it out and get your pictures out there.

Get Cashback for Your Purchases

I’ve only used ibotta for a little while but so far I’ve found that not everything I want to buy is on there. Of course, that’s expected as they can’t put everything on there but I think it could use more variety. When you make your first purchase you receive a $10.00 welcome bonus and when your friends sign up with your referral code, you receive $5.00. It’s a pretty simple app to use because you just take out your phone at the store, list the items you’re purchasing, take a picture of the receipt after you buy everything, and get a percentage back on what you buy.

I hope that this information will help someone out there who just needs a few extra bucks and probably doesn’t have the time for another job. I’m sure if you have the time to put more effort into some of these suggestions, you could definitely earn quite a lot. Just a reminder that none of these are meant to immediately replace your job but you could supplement your income. I didn’t have much luck with some of these myself but I did find other people online who were more successful with them and maybe you’ll have more luck than I did. It’s worth a shot! If there are any other apps or online gigs that you have tried and found helpful, please let me know! I’m always looking to try new things and as a college student I could use all of the help I can get!
